Beach Education Thursday 8th December

Whakapoungakau Team participated in a very successful beach education day last Thursday.   A1 and A3 visited Papamoa Beach Surf Life Saving Club.   As well as learning about water safety on our New Zealand surf beaches, students played games on the sand and spent time in the water.  We are very grateful to the whanau helpers who made the whole day possible.  Thank you all so much.

Now what do those cool life guards wear?

Almost time for a swim

Bailey's balloon powered vehicle

Bailey is ahead of us all.  Wow Bailey that's great. Have you worked out why it goes better on the wooden deck and not the polished floor in our classroom?

Term 4

Kia ora and welcome back to school and our last term for this year. An exciting time of the year. One term left for our Year 6 students before they head off to Year 7.  One term left for our Year 5 students before they become our school leaders for 21017.

This will be a busy term with lots to fit in. We have a Marae trip planned for Week 3 and a beach education programme later in the term. We will also be exploring the Material World in science!

Watch this space as we share our learning experiences with our whanau and friends.

Week 2 in A1

There's been fantastic learning happening in A1 this week. Thank you to the class photographers for capturing some learning moments.

Here's a few more I'd like to add. As you can see A1 students are engaged in the learning and loving our learning space!

We love our whiteboard table when we are learning with Whaea Lesley.

We can choose where we work. There's high tables, low tables, bean bags, fritters and the floor.

We are learning to manage ourselves during independent learning. We are doing a pretty good job!
