Writing

Term 3

Week 2

Most people have finished their plan. We will start writing our narratives tomorrow.
Check out the success criteria for the orientation (introduction) on the wall in class.

Week 1

WALT narrate (tell) a story.

This week we will start story writing. Start thinking of ideas and record them in a notebook or the back of your Homework Book.  Think about the setting, characters, the problem, series of of events (what happens in sequence) and resolution (how your story will end).

I'm looking forward to reading your stories later in the week!

Week 8 Term 2

We made our hovercrafts and have started our explanation.

We deconstructed a model and annotated it.  This helped us co-construct the success criteria. We then planned our first explanation together as a whole class.

Here is our whole class work and some examples of models.

Week 7 Term 2

This week we start a new unit in writing.
WALT write an explanation.
Purpose: Explanations tells us how or why something works or happens.

Today we made a hovercraft and learnt about how and why they work. Tomorrow we will deconstruct a model (good example of an explanation) and identify the success criteria. We will then start planning our own piece of writing. Our class photographer  (Jago) will post some photos on the blog tomorrow.
